A Switzerland 5-star hotel, The Chedi Andermatt, announced it would accept Bitcoin and Ethereum payments. As a result, it reportedly becomes the first Swiss hotel to accept cryptos as means of payment.
The digital assets adoption would let guests pay accommodation bills surpassing 200 CHF ($218) using bitcoin (BTC) or ether (ETH).
The hotel offers 123 luxurious rooms, and a double room for a single night costs over $600. Therefore, the price end of the new crypto option seems easily reachable. Besides, The Chedi Andermatt is located in the center of the Alps.
As the crypto industry keeps growing and attracting more investors, Jean-Yves Blatt, The Chedi Andermatt’s General Manager, commented on the adoption. He said,
“Due to the popularity of cryptocurrencies, we are proud to be the first Swiss hotel to accept cryptocurrency payments as a safe and secure way to pay for their say.”
In addition, this move makes the hotel one of the first 5-star in Switzerland and one among many globally to adopt crypto as payments. In July, the Pavilions Hotel & Resort let its customers book their rooms with more than 40 cryptocurrencies, including BTC and ETH.
Also, the famous Belgian bar – Dolle Molthe and the Venezuelan Turpial Airlines are the latest to adopt cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.
The Venezuelan carrier — Turpial Airlines and the famous Belgian bar Dolle Mol also make the list of the crypto craze by adding virtual assets as payment methods.
