CEO Adam Aron made the announcement on Twitter earlier this week. He noted,

"Your replies just might break the internet, given your clear enthusiasm and interest in cryptocurrency. As promised, the http://amctheatres.com web site now accepts Dogecoin and Shiba Inu for online payments! A special shout out to @BitPay for helping us to make this happen."

Aron gave a "special" shout-out to BitPay, a cryptocurrency payment processor that allowed Dogecoin and Shiba Inu to be accepted.

AMC was intended to introduce support for the two memecoins on its website and mobile app on March 19, but it happened more than a week sooner.

The movie theater business conducted Twitter polls to determine if it should proceed with the Dogecoin and Shiba Inu combination.

Aron announced that his company had begun working on permitting payments in those two cryptocurrencies after receiving a resounding response from the communities.

In November, AMC began accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies as payment for tickets and concessions.
