Bored Ape Yacht Club and Bored Ape Kennel Club NFTs were sold at Sotheby for $24 million and $1.83 million respectively.
Yuga Labs’ 101 Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection has been sold through expectations with a winning proposal of $24.39 million.
According to reports, the sale ended on September 10. In addition, it was hosted at Sotheby, which earlier thought the collection would fetch between $12 million and $18 million.
As per the website, the bundle of non-fungibles (NFTs) involves 101 Bored Apes and 3 M1 and 3 M2 “Mutant serum” NFTs. But note that when a Bored Ape token is mixed with an M1 or M2 serum, it allows the holder to mint a new Mutant Ape NFT that holds the same features of the original Bored Ape but describes it in a mutant format.
Moreover, based on the website, each Bored Ape in the collection was estimated at an average price of 69.4 Ether (ETH) worth around $241,000 at press time.
Aside from this, Yuga Labs also sold off a 101 NFT collection of its side project Bored Ape Kennel Club. Even more, the auction closed on the same day with a winning bid of $1.83 million, at $18,150 per NFT. The character came within Sotheby’s valuation of $1.5 million to $2 million.
BAYC was launched by Yuga Labs a Delaware-based firm on April 30. Since then, it become a popular project. The figures attracted many big names in sports, crypto, and many other industries. NBA star Steph Curry joined Bored Ape Yacht family, buying one of the NFTs for 55 ETH worth around $180,000.
