Colombia President's advisor said that Bitcoin is the “most brilliant piece of software ever.”
In an interview, presidential advisor Jehudi Castro Sierra praised the technology behind Bitcoin, the largest crypto by market cap.
Castro Sierra is responsible for guiding the country’s leader on things related to tech and digital transformation. Surprisingly, today he stated that Bitcoin had become a primary concern for him.
According to the interview, Castro Sierra said he previously saw Bitcoin (BTC) as a “great open-source project” before viewing its monetary innovation. He stated,
"After some time, I also got interested in the monetary innovation that it represents, and I am still discovering amazing new things every day."
In addition, the advisor emphasized that crypto is the “main focus,” adding that the technology behind it is an “innovative sandbox” to reach citizens securely. Also, Castro Sierra noted that the government was drawn in drafting “friendly” law that would incentivize innovation in the country and attract external investment.
Moreover, he also talked about El Salvador’s recent adoption of Bitcoin as a legal tender. He said it was a “bold move.” However, he didn't comment on whether Colombia would follow El Salvador’s foot step and adopt Bitcoin a legal tender.
