According to a job opening released earlier this week, Disney is looking to employ a business development manager who will assist lead the company's debut into the hot non-fungible token (NFT) space:
You will assist in leading Disney's activities in the NFT arena, including market monitoring, category strategy, and key partner management.
The person recruited for the above post will be in charge of "watching the developing marketplace," strategizing new business prospects, and negotiating critical alliances.
The company, based in Burbank, California, is looking for a business manager with experience in the non-profit sector.
Last October, Disney partnered with Veve, a Gochain-based NFT marketplace, to promote Disney+'s streaming service with a collection of digital artifacts named "Golden Moments." On the OpenSea marketplace, Iger expressed his displeasure at "poached" NFTs.
When it comes to Disney's future foray into the metaverse, Iger predicts that regulating "toxic" conduct will be a major difficulty.
