Buterin believes Ethereum's priority should not be on selling ape-related assets for millions of dollars (ETH).

The Russian-Canadian developer is the driving force behind Ethereum, having co-founded the project and remaining active in it to this day.

In addition, Buterin voiced concern about the exuberance that has influenced the path of the NFT market, and hence the entire crypto ecosystem, in a recent interview with Time.

“The danger is that you have these $3 million monkeys and that becomes a different kind of bet.”

Despite not mentioning BAYC by name, the developer was definitely alluding to the collection's works, which are currently the most valuable in this area.

He discussed how the crypto world may provide more value to its users by using the war between Russia and Ukraine as an example.

Buterin has been a vocal opponent of Russia's incursion into Ukrainian land. He expressed support for the local residents on Twitter multiple times, urging his native country's ruler, Vladimir Putin, to choose peace and end his military offensive.
