Etihad Airways has announced the impending release of its first NFT collection, 'EY-ZERO1,' which will include ten very accurate 3D aircraft models.
The UAE's second flag carrier airline, Etihad Airways, has announced the beginning of its first non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
The 'EY-ZERO1' collection includes 2,003 limited-edition artifacts reflecting the year Etihad Airways was founded, as well as 10 exceptionally accurate 3D aircraft models, each representing a distinct Etihad Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner livery.
Etihad Airways will partner with Aerial.is to track the NFTs' CO2 emissions, and EY-ZERO1 will be coined on the energy-efficient Polygon blockchain.
In addition to offsetting the project's entire carbon impact, all earnings from the sale of NFTs will be utilized to purchase sustainable aviation fuel in 2022.
On July 21 at 6 p.m. UAE time, the EY-ZERO1 NFT collection will be available at etihad.arcube.io. Each NFT will cost $349 plus VAT and will be available until August 18 at 6 p.m. Time in the UAE.
NFT holders will automatically receive Etihad Guest Silver tier membership for a year, with 10 lucky NFT holders earning free Etihad aircraft tickets.
Owners of NFTs will also get early access to future NFT collections and metaverse goods planned by the airline as part of its Web3 strategy.
Etihad will give away 20 NFTs to those who pre-register on etihad.com/zero1 before July 16th to honor the debut of the new collection.
