The Japanese exchange said that the hacker now is in possession of around $74 million in crypto. The exchange confirmed the security breach in a series of tweets. The team said,

"Important Notice: We are sorry to announce that #LiquidGlobal warm wallets were compromised, we are moving assets into the cold wallet. We are currently investigating and will provide regular updates. In the meantime deposits and withdrawals will be suspended."

Liquid Global Exchange hasn't given more details yet but gave the addresses that got hacked.

BTC: 1Fx1bhbCwp5LU2gHxfRNiSHi1QSHwZLf7q

ETH/EWT: 0x5578840aae68682a9779623fa9e8714802b59946

TRX: TSpcue3bDfZNTP1CutrRrDxRPeEvWhuXbp

XRP: rfapBqj7rUkGju7oHTwBwhEyXgwkEM4yby

These addresses contain over 107 BTC, 9,000,000 TRX, 11,000,000 XRP, and over $60 million worth of Ether (ETH). Also, ERC-20 tokens have been hacked by hackers.

Almost 10 months ago, the Liquid exchange confirmed it was hacked, but that the scope of the incident was still under investigation.

The hack in crypto exchanges is something that appears to happen. If not regularly, at least once in a while. In 2018, Nano saw $170 million stolen in a breach, Coinrail lost $40 million after a hack, Bithumb lost $30 million, and Binance and Coincheck each lost a massive $40 million after hackers broke in.
