A large quantity of Bitcoin was transferred in less than two minutes between anonymous wallets.
According to Bitcoin Block Bot, which tracks large Bitcoin transfers and provides details about them on Twitter, 7 massive BTC transactions were conducted in less than an hour, totaling about two billion USD.
Over $1.7 billion in Bitcoin is on the move
The Twitter bot detected 45,596 Bitcoin transfers totaling $1,699,331,002 in value.
These transactions mostly carried little more than 2,000, 5,000, and 6,000 BTC. However, two of them stand out because they moved 15,032 and 10,156 BTC, valued $560 and $378 million, respectively.
Portnoy returns to Bitcoin
Meanwhile, as the largest global cryptocurrency trades below $38,000, David Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports and Internet star, said that he had purchased some Bitcoin again.
According to his tweet, Portnoy purchased 29 Bitcoins on January 28, when the coin was trading at around the same level as it is now—$37,300.
In August 2020, the creator of Barstool Sports purchased Bitcoin, as well as Chainlink (LINK) and Orchid (OXT), after being encouraged by the Winklevoss twins to invest in cryptocurrency. He purchased $200,000 in Bitcoin.
He was shortly dissatisfied, however, and sold his crypto holdings, losing money due to the price drop.
Since then, he has been following the cryptocurrency market and occasionally commenting on it on Twitter, debating with Elon Musk about Dogecoin.
Portnoy officially stated in March of last year that he was mistaken about Bitcoin.
