Samsung is the latest giant company to join the metaverse through Decentraland.
The Samsung metaverse store is like the real-world shop based at 837 Washington Street in New York City's Meatpacking District.
Samsung shared the news on January 6, 2021, announcing the opening of a virtual replica of its iconic New York physical store to improve customer interaction as the pandemic is keeping people away from physical shops.
According to the consumer electronics giant, its 837X shop will now be accessible on the metaverse for a limited time. In addition to this, the firm says that it is one of the largest brand takeovers in Decentraland, a blockchain-based metaverse.
To access the store, users must go through Decentraland using a web browser. After customers log in, their avatars will be sent outside Samsung's metaverse network. So, when the avatar gets in the lobby, a digital guide will guide the avatar to one of 3 interior rooms that include sustainability, customization, and connection.
In addition, the Samsung 837X store will feature "Connectivity Theater and Sustainability Forest" and a musical event at the "Customization Stage."
Recently, Samsung announced the release of a new smart TV range with an integrated NFT platform.
