The crypto-focused travel platform, Travala, announced on Twitter that it now accepts Shiba Inu as a method of payment after the community won a tight battle against rival meme coin Floki Inu.
Based on this news, the memecoin can now be used as a payment option for booking over 2.2 million hotels around the globe.
For instance, Dogecoin cryptocurrency was added to the list of Travala available payment options in early May.
In July, Travala launched Dtravel, a decentralized home rental platform that strives to compete with the likes of Airbnb. In addition, it is managed with the help of the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) system.
Started in 2017 the platform quickly became popular with crypto-friendly travelers and last year, Travala merged with Binance-invested competitor TravelbyBit.
