Following last week's Russian incursion, Ukraine's government quickly canceled its planned crypto airdrop and said that it would instead sell NFTs to raise revenue.
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the news to his over 195k Twitter followers on March 3.
"After careful thought, we have decided to stop airdrop," Ukraine's digital transformation minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, tweeted today from his verified Twitter account.
In addition to this, Fedorov emphasizes "Rather, we will shortly unveil NFTs to assist the Ukrainian Armed Forces. We have no intention of issuing any fungible tokens."
Note that scammers had previously targeted Ukraine's fundraising efforts.
