WhatsApp by Meta, formerly known as Facebook, announced it implemented the cryptocurrency transaction technology directly in the app through Novi wallet.

According to reports from Reuters, Novi head Stephane Kasriel said in a tweet late on December 8 that the pilot program is open to a limited number of people only in the United States.

In addition, Kasriel stressed that using Novi does not adjust the privacy of WhatsApp personal messages and calls or whatsoever.

Note that the Meta platform has been working on the wallet app for months while scaling back its global plans for launching a digital currency called Diem on regulatory concerns.
